CUYAHOGA RIVER VALLEY PARK

The Cuyahoga River Valley on either side of the river from Babb Run east and northeast to Water Works Park a distance of over six miles is a challenge to anyone with an exploring mind. You pass through the Metropolitan Park area with entrances at State Road, or on a path between the houses at 1728 and 1738 Highbridge Road, or Front Street at the bridge or on a path just north of the American Legion Hall at 1601 Front Street. This area from Babb Run to the Legion Hall is full of paths for explorers and rocky ledges with eye pleasing formations. Included in this section is Mary Campbell Cave and the original Big Falls is now the spillway for the Ohio Edison 70 foot high concrete dam. On the south bank just west of State road to Front Street is the old Chuckery built in the 1840's, but was filled in and leveled off for street car tracks and is an ideal walk to observe the north bank across the river.
