The third floor of this Apollo Block houses the Apollo Opera and Entertainment Center. The building was located on the southeast corner of Front and Portage.
This building is still there with stairs to the left going down towards the river. It is located across from the Whistle Stop.

The new "moving picture business" was brought to the Falls shortly before 1920. There was a Standard Theater on the east side of Front Street, about the middle of the block between Portage and Broad. It was only in existence for a few years but the Alhambra Theatre, in the north end of what was called the Alhambra Building, was opened just a couple doors south of where the Standard Theater stood. There were "silent movies" where the pianist played the mood music for the picture that was showing. The Falls Theater was built in 1925 on the west side of Front Street between Portage and Stow Street. At the time it was built there were just silent movies, but shortly after talking pictures were perfected, it was converted to a theater for "talkies."
